About me

As human beings we will sometimes fail, accept someone's bad behaviour towards us or do something we aren’t proud of. It can have an enormous negative impact on our wellbeing, but whatever is troubling you I believe that our difficulties don’t have to define our future. I understand how difficult it can be to reach out to someone for help but I'm here to support you. I believe that everyone has the right to feel happy and I’m here to help you find the relief and lightness that you may be looking for.

I am a professionally qualified counsellor and I take a person-centred integrative approach which means that I can tailor the therapy to suit you. I am trustworthy and compassionate; offering a confidential, safe, non-judgemental environment for us to work together to explore any painful or troubling aspects of your life however big or small. We will work at your pace and there will be opportunities to review our progress to ensure that you are getting what you want from therapy.

I offer Online counselling via video (Zoom), telephone, email and text counselling.  I also offer face-to-face sessions in the Ammanford area and also Carmarthen.  However these are subject to Covid-19 restrictions.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a registered member of the British Association Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and also a registered member of the National Council for Psychotherapists (NCP). This means that I work to a very high professional standard and ethical framework.

I have an FDA in Integrative Counselling, BTEC in Counselling and an MSc in Community Regeneration. Some of the certificates I hold are in Trauma Rewind Therapy (IARRT), Suicide prevention, Domestic abuse, Bereavement Counselling and Pregnancy and Infant loss.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Further information

Having been a client I understand how much courage it takes to phone or visit a therapist. I remember feeling worried about what I would say, how much would I reveal. Would I like the therapist? Would the therapist like me? However, it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made which is why I am so passionate about my job and helping people achieve their goals. If you are looking for someone compassionate, trustworthy with a wealth of experience, then you’ve come to the right place. Please contact me for further details and we will discuss options that suit you.

Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.
