Margaret Lee (CBT) MBACP (Accredited)
About me
As an accredited CBT counsellor my aim is to provide a warm, confidential and calm environment for you to explore the thoughts, feelings and behaviours which are causing you concern.
I work mostly with adults and teenagers who have anxiety and depression. The CBT approach has been proven to help with a wide range of psychological issues such as OCD, panic attacks, PTSD etc so clients can often reach positive outcomes and improved well-being within a relatively short space of time (approximately 6-10 sessions).
Most clients value the opportunity to talk openly without fear of judgement or burdening a friend or family member. The session would be tailored to meet your needs. We would work together to set goals for improved well-being and review these regularly. CBT provides a range of strategies to enable you to work through the issues which may be stopping you from living your life to its full potential. With improved self-awareness, experimenting with new behaviours and challenging unhelpful thoughts you learn the approaches beneficial for positive changes.
As a Mindfulness practitioner, I also use Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy to provide an effective way of helping manage strong emotions and stress.
I would be more than happy to respond to any questions you might have prior to counselling.
