At Mantle Psychology you’ll be seen by a qualified and experienced Clinical Psychologist. We provide assessments and therapy for all mental health concerns, and treat you with a therapy style that meets your needs. We work with children and adults. We are trained in a full range of therapies, such as CBT, ACT, CAT, and EMDR, which we can specifically tailor your therapy experience to your concerns and your goals.
Training, qualifications & experience
Dr. Lucy Hughes DClinPsych. MEd. BA(Hons). HCPC reg.
Dr. Lucy Hughes has a doctorate in Clinical Psychology (University of Sheffield); a Masters in Educational Psychology and Child Development (University of Manchester); and. Bachelors degree in Sociology (Univer Of Leeds).
She has additional training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Theraplay, Attachment based therapy, and continues her professional development with workshops and training.
Dr. Hughes worked in CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services) for over 10 years in primary and Secondary Services. Till 2018 she was clinical lead for the Neurodevelopmental assessment service.
More recently Dr. Hughes worked providing psychological support within the community and psychiatric wards in Adult services in the NHS.
Dr. Hughes has extensive experience working with children, families, and adults with all mental health difficulties. She is trained in a full range of therapy styles.

Health and Care Professions Council
The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.
They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.
Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
