About me

Counselling Directive

Emotional and mental health well being are important for everyday living.

You don't need to feel isolated and suffer in silence, when the day to day life becomes difficult to cope with and can leave you feeling dissatisfied and unhappy with yourself and your relationships. Talking through and exploring your feelings with an experienced therapist in a safe and supported environment can be helpful. I understand that choosing the right therapist is not easy, and in the first session we can explore what you are looking for from  therapy.

I am a qualified experienced Person Centred Therapist and I recognise that everyone is different and a unique individual. My aim is to help people find their voice and inner strength to realise their potential to be true to them self.  I am easy to talk to and non–judgmental and I work with wide-ranging human issues including: making adjustments to major life events, abuse, ageing, anger, anxiety, childhood neglect, chronic pain, cultural complexities, cults, depression, eating disorders, family issues, grief, health worries, relationship difficulties, sexuality, self-harm, panic attacks, and personal and work stress.

As of 1st February 2024, I have moved my practice to:  teIephone , online - (Teams), and  I will also be providing walk and talk therapy. If you are interested in working with me please get in touch via email in the first instance.

All sessions are confidential and free from judgement,  I can help you to reduce feelings of isolation and help you to build courage to work through your problems and make changes that are right for you in your life. The client is at the centre of their therapy and I provide guidance, support, reflection, observation through the therapeutic process.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
