About me

My passion has always been people, and not just people but their mental health, movement, and well-being. I have been exposed to many life-changing events that have moulded me into the person I am today. A person who wants and has the ability, to support others.
Over the last twenty years, I’ve worked in many organisations with a diverse range of people teaching me patience and deepening my empathetic understanding, these diverse and rich environments have helped me master my communication and listening skills. Throughout my professional journey, I have noticed that stress, anxiety, and depression don’t discriminate. With this in mind, through my counselling practice, I strive to offer you a space that feels safe, that is confidential and accepting of you as you are. Also, one of trust, as I believe you are your own expert, giving way to us exploring and processing thoughts and feelings, a space to empower you and a space where you are heard.

As a person-centred counsellor, I am focused on working with you at your own speed with grace and respect. I take direction from you, this means you bring the material you wish to explore and we do, step by step, with no judgment. You will be met with unconditional positive regard, congruence and empathy from me, no matter what you bring to the sessions. There is no doubt counselling can be hard work, but I also acknowledge the potential for it to be empowering.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have trained in Health and Wellbeing Coaching and Life Coaching through the British Physcology Institute of London. My Counselling training has seen me complete my level 2 with WSCC, my Level 3 with Haulm and levels 4 and 5 (Foundation stage degree in Person-Centred Counselling) through the University of Brighton. Even though I am a qualified counsellor I take my career and profession with seriousness and dedication and have embarked on my Degree course with the University of East Anglia.

I have worked with a few agencies like MacMillan Cancer Counselling, Sage Counselling, counselling to those who have mobility issues and Carers Support West Sussex. Working with these agencies has broadened and diversified my experience.

I adhere to the ethical framework as set out by the BACP by attending all supervision sessions which are there to ensure safe and ethical practice is taking place for the client.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
