About me

I am  a qualified Psychodynamic Therapist , I hold an MSc in Psychodynamic Counselling and Psychotherapy  from Birkbeck College (University of London) and am a registered member of the British Association of Counsellors and  Psychotherapists (BACP).

I have broad  professional  knowledge and experience in both physical and mental health conditions.   I am a registered nurse with Nursing and Midwifery Council and worked for many years at NHS teaching hospitals, my final nursing  post was  Sister in Charge of  the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Kings College Hospital, before I am also  a qualified Nurse Tutor, and my teaching career included teaching student nurses at Kings College Hospital School of Nursing and later  as a Senior University Lecturer at Kingston University and St. Georges Medical School

.I qualified as a psychodynamic Psychotherapist in 2009, since qualification   my clinical experience has included  working at  NHS Psychotherapy Departments,  at   East London   NHS  TRUST and South London and Maudsley ( SLAM), as well as the  Students Counselling Services at Kings College University London

I offer my clients  a therapeutic space  to explore any issues that are troubling them and  want to work on in therapy; together we will explore the  origins of present difficulties and   patterns of behaviour, and  dynamics in  relationships  that might be repetitive , occurring time and again. I work with my clients to   bring to awareness of the blind spots  , and try to find together an alternative view of oneself and others.

The initial session   will be a consultation to give  the client  an opportunity to talk confidentially  about the issues they want to address in therapy, as well decide if this is the right  therapy to proceed.

I work ethically and non judgementally , abiding  by the (BACP)   code of conduct.

I am a fully insured practitioner. I  attend weekly supervision  clinical supervision with a senior psychoanalyst.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
