Madison-Amy Webb (MBACP Accredited) Counsellor/ Supervisor, and Art Therapist
Transitions Counselling Based in Central Peterborough
Sometimes during our lives we can experience anxiety, stress and depression. Maybe life has become difficult and we can’t cope, or have lost our direction? I work with individuals, offer couples counselling, and support people experiencing anxiety, depression and stress. In addition I also offer Anger Management support.
You Need Not Struggle.
I have counselled and support clients with a variety of life’s problems, from specific concerns to issues where the client is less sure as to the cause of their unhappiness.
I share my time currently between Adult Mental Health Day Services and Private Practice. I have previously worked within Community Youth Counselling Agencies, the NHS, Further Education, and Drug and Alcohol Misuse Service.
My aim is always to provide a clear, open, supportive and ethical service to enable people to explore, understand, and manage their lives within an ever changing and difficult world.
I offer one to one and couples counselling as a space for you to talk about whatever is of concern within a confidential environment.
I work within the British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy - BACP Ethical Framework.
I have supported clients both long and short term:
During times of personal distress, relationship difficulties, and other life changing events.
Coming to terms with, and gaining understanding of past issues and traumas, enable clients to learn more about themselves and explore questions relating to their life.
The first meeting is an opportunity for you to begin to talk about your concerns, and for us to decide what support is appropriate for you.
I have a training in Art Therapy, and if the client and I feels its appropriate and will aid their therapy we can incorporate art as another approach to assist the client achieve a personal understanding when words are not enough. Art therapy isn't about producing masterpieces of creative works, but rather its about using a visual language to convey certain difficult to convey emotions.
I also offer one to one clinical supervision to counsellors.
I believe that supervision is a fundamental aspect of the therapeutic work we are engaged in with our clients. Not only does it provide the platform to monitor the obvious matters such as safeguarding. It also allows you to take a step back and observe with me the therapeutic working relationship. I am a strong believer that we (as therapists) are the medium by which we work with our clients and the relationship we have with them is fundamental in terms of unlocking the potential therapeutic value we may support the clients to develop for themselves.
I have over 17 years of clinical experience, and have provided supervision to other counsellors in a variety of organisation e.g. MIND, YMCA Counselling Service, Ealing Hammersmith & West London College.
