Contact me today for a FREE consultation, so we can explore together whether you might benefit from counselling or trauma therapy. With 11+ years experience I provide counselling and trauma therapy in a safe way for young people and adults who may be struggling. I find it important that we work in a pace that suits you, rather than going too quickly (or too slow). I work by the ethics of the BACP Ethical Framework, to ensure good practice at all times.
I work with a wide variety of difficulties, such as depression, anxiety, bereavement, trauma, self-esteem and work related stress. I am experienced in providing one-to-one integrative counselling, relationship and family counselling, as well as trauma therapy. This includes working with Person-Centred Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Transactional Analysis, Trauma-Focused CBT, the Rewind-Technique, and Solution-Focused Therapy.
Through my work in the Netherlands and the United Kingdom I have specialized in working with trauma and bereavement, such as domestic abuse and sexual abuse, car accidents, traumatic bereavements, human trafficking, childhood abuse and neglect and burglaries.
I also deliver a range of counselling CPD events for Best for Training, as I am a qualified teacher. I provide one-to-one supervision and group supervision for trainee counsellors, as well as experienced qualified counsellors.
To arrange one-to-one counselling, trauma therapy, training or supervision with me, please call me on 075757 08865 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
I look forward to hear from you!
Training, qualifications & experience
My work as a counsellor started working for Victim Support in the Netherlands. Afterwards I worked as a counsellor for a General Counselling Department. I worked there for four years with children, young people and adults who struggled with self-esteem, relationship difficulties, bullying, burn-out, abuse, anxiety, depression and grief. I provided one-to-one counselling, family counselling, relationship counselling and therapeutic group work. I became the lead contact for all domestic violence cases in the area. I coordinated the support for the victims of domestic abuse and represented the team in monthly multi-agency meetings.
After having immigration to the United Kingdom, I worked for another four years with survivors of sexual abuse, including CSA, sexual assault, rape and harassment. Afterwards I taught counselling at a college in Southend-on-Sea. I currently work as a bereavement counsellor in Chelmsford, as well as a Senior Therapist and Clinical Lead with trafficked boys and young men in London. I have set up the therapeutic service for this clientele, trained the staff in working safely with trauma-symptoms and provide consultation to all staff members. I also work from private practice, providing one-to-one counselling and trauma therapy to young people and adults who may struggle with difficulties such as depression, anxiety, grief, relationship difficulties and trauma. In addition I provide one-to-one supervision for both student counsellors and qualified counsellors.
Aside from working as a counsellor, I am a qualified teacher. I have developed and provided regular training for educational staff, foster carers and delivered accredited counselling qualifications.
My qualifications are:
BSc degree in Teaching
BSc (Hons) degree in Counselling/ Social Work
Diploma Therapeutic Counselling

Other areas of counselling I deal with
I specialize in working with any form of trauma, including domestic abuse, sexual abuse, car accidents, traumatic bereavements, sudden illness and trafficking. I am trained in the Rewind-Technique by the Human Givens College. The Rewind-Technique is a gentle trauma-technique which allows you to process the traumatic memory whilst feeling safe and present.
I also provide trauma-focused CBT, which is a gentle way to increase a sense of safety, working to manage your post-trauma symptoms such as re-living, avoidance, hyper-arousal and negative views of yourself or the world. We can look at processing some of the feelings or traumatic experiences as well. Some people find that very helpful, for others it may not be necessary. The sessions will always be tailored to your wants and needs.
- Behavioural therapy
- Cognitive and behavioural therapies
- Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT)

- Couples counselling
