About me

Hello and welcome to Nurturing Growth Counselling.

Life can feel hectic, throwing highs and lows at us, and we can end up neglecting taking some time for ourselves – we may not even know how to.

A counselling journey with me will provide the freedom to explore what is troubling you. Take a step away from the pace set by life and society and set your own. An opportunity to give yourself the safety and space to explore “what do I need and want in my life” and make sense of it all.

I work from a person-centred core, which means I believe each and every one of us has the internal tools to grow and develop in the way we choose - even if that might not feel possible right now. This is your journey, my role is to work collaboratively with you towards your goals, whether you choose to gain techniques for the here and now, or to use the space to explore deeper feelings – I am here with you.

The space counselling provides is safe and holding, encouraging self-governance and empowerment. Through exploring inner thoughts and feelings, counselling may support you to find a new perspective which enables a true sense of self to be gained and valued.

My way of working is based on unconditional positive regard, I am not here to judge, I am here to listen. Empathy, I am here to be with you on your journey. Congruence, I am open and genuine within our therapeutic relationship. I am fully accepting of you and the journey you are on.

I offer an initial 15-minute telephone call, free of charge, so you can ask questions and discuss any concerns. This enables you get a sense of whether you feel I may be the right fit for you. Please feel free to contact me via email so we can arrange a day and time that suits best.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
