About me
Hello and welcome, I am a qualified counsellor/psychotherapist offering private and confidential counselling on a short or long term basis from my practice in the Redditch area. I am an accredited member of British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists. I hold a current enhanced DBS certificate. I am fully insured. I offer face to face, video and telephone counselling sessions.
Are you experiencing a difficult time at the moment and need help to understand it? Are you wondering if counselling will help? Counselling can help increase your self awareness, helping you to have insight and understanding about yourself and the difficulties you are experiencing, this can enable you to make positive changes in your life.
In my practice my aim is to work alongside you and to offer a non judgemental space in which we can explore and help make sense of the difficulty you are experiencing allowing you a greater choice of how to go forward. I use my understanding of different theoretical orientations including Humanistic, Psychodynamic and CBT to work with each individual in a unique way.
I currently work within a service focusing on trauma and abuse and another NHS led service focusing on anxiety and depression. I am a qualified Interpersonal Psychotherapist.
I have worked with clients within a broad age group experiencing a range of difficulties these include anixiety, depression, relationship problems, bereavement, life limiting illness and sexual abuse.
I have worked within agencies offering general counselling, bereavement and as an Early Intervention Family counsellor, offering counselling to parents/carers of children who were experiencing difficulties, helping to prevent family breakdown.
In order to keep my practice ethical and up to date I continue to attend training and workshops regularly in line with requirements of the professional body I am registered with. I have reached accreditation with BACP.
I hope you find the information you require but if you have any further questions please feel free to email or call me. If you phone and I am unable to answer I can call you back. Please indicate in the message if there are times that are more suitable for me to call you.
If I cannot offer you an appointment immediately with myself I will offer you an alternative option.

Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
