About me

Hi my name is Lynne and I am an experienced and accredited therapist offering counselling and psychotherapy for adults and for children.

I offer therapeutic support for your individual needs with understanding and compassion.

About you
Have you been experiencing anxiety or been feeling sad or low ? Have you been experiencing issues within a part of your life or in a relationship ?
Have thoughts, feelings or memories of past experiences or relationships resurfaced or continued to affect you today?

I can help you to develop understanding of your emotional needs, explore ways to express feelings and empower you to make changes for a more fulfilled life.

How I can support you
I will support you, to share with me how you are feeling and doing and to share what has brought you to consider therapy for yourself at this time.
I have experience and training in different therapeutic approaches - I will draw on this to see how to best support you to heal and make changes.             Please visit my website to read more about the therapeutic approaches that I offer.

I offer creative arts therapy
If you are seeking support, but are anxious about talking about painful life experiences or how they have left you feeling - creative therapy can help you to process and express feelings at your own pace. Creative therapy includes art therapy, exploring the meaning of dreams, guided visualisation, creative writing or music.

I offer therapeutic support for children
I understand  that considering therapy for your child may seem daunting. I offer warmth and compassion and will deeply listen to your concerns about your child.

I offer play therapy and creative arts
I offer your child the opportunity to express emotions through play and creative activities within a safe therapeutic space and relationship.

My therapy room has been carefully considered to be both calm and welcoming, I will introduce your child to a variety of therapeutic activities and art materials in the room.

I will be led by the activities that your child is drawn to. I will be there to show empathy, be playful and curious and support them to communicate and express themselves in their own way and at their own pace.

Contacting me
You are very welcome to email or call me. I encourage you to share a little of what brings you to consider therapy at this time. We can then explore your hopes and goals for therapy and how we might work together.

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
