Lyn Tonks BSc MA HG Dip P. MBACP MHGI
Hi, I'm Lyn. I am a friendly and understanding, highly qualified counsellor working from dedicated rooms in Wilmslow town centre. If you are feeling worried about something in your life, emotional, physical, spiritual, social or relational, why not come along and have a chat. When you come to see me, we will be able to talk together about what is troubling you, in a comfortable, quiet and confidential environment. We can concentrate on your concerns, so you feel heard, respected and supported.
I am an Integrative Counsellor, so I can make use of a wide range of types of counselling, depending on your needs.
I am also a qualified Human Givens Therapist which is aimed at getting your emotional needs met and enabling you to learn appropriate skills to help you move forward with your life. I can help you look at your emotional needs and assist you in making use of your own innate and learned resources so you can start to lead a more positive life, one where you can look forward with purpose and satisfaction. Human Givens therapy is a short-term solution focused therapy and as such usually only takes a few sessions.
I have also trained in ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) which is about accepting what is, while discovering what's important to you, and learning to lead a more meaningful life.
My practice is also informed by Existential ideas, which means I can help you come to terms with human issues we all face at some time such as life transition, sadness, depression, anxiety, loneliness, choice and responsibility.
By talking together you can start to make sense of your difficulties and to find a way through them. Then you can begin to experience life to the full, in a real and meaningful way.

the guidelines and code of ethics of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy. I work under full supervision and regularly undergo further training for ongoing professional development.
