About me

Welcome to my profile. I am UKCP registered and have over 25 years experience as psychotherapist/ counsellor. I work with individuals and couples and groups.

I worked for 15 years in the NHS as a Senior Psychotherapist also in Private Practice for many years. I offer Counselling/Psychotherapy long and short term sessions for individuals and couples. My specialism is in Attachment Separation and Loss and believe this is where life itself begins. I also work with people who have experienced trauma and depression and low mood,

I also offer individual and group Clinical Supervision for trainee and registered Counsellors/Psychotherapists. Please visit my web site www.psychotherapyforbristol.co.uk

I work with what is troubling you, think together and making connections with childhood issues and how they impact on adult life that do not serve you well in the present.

I also work with couples in a neutral objective way. I do have a sliding scale of fees to be negotiated.

Due to the current Corona Virus updates and above from the Government I am offering telephone sessions and will negotiate a time that suits both.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am UKCP registered and have over 25 years experience working with all kinds of people from different ethnic backgrounds traditions andy gender. I worked for the South London & Maudsley NHS Trust as a Senior Adult Psychotherapist for 15 years with secondary care patients and have maintained a private practice since the 1980's in North and South London and at present in Bristol. Over the years I have had clinical supervision for my clients with some eminent practitioners.

I am also a training therapist for Wessex Counselling & Psychotherapy Service

I am 20 years post qualified from The Guild of Psychotherapists. have attended many short trainings and lectures in the field of Psychoanalysis, Psychotherapy and Counselling. Having personal analysis for many years has been a life changing experience and has been the foundation of working as a psychotherapist.

My orentation and thinking comes from an Attachment prespective which I believe underpins ones development to future adulthood. Our early attachment style often influences our present relationships which may not do not serve us well. My vast experience shows that working and thinking together in therapy can help make bettter choices in the future. I believe Counselling and/or Psychotherapy can really help and have had some remarkable outcomes from working with individuals and helping couples come to some resolution together whether to stay together or amicably part.
I work with childhood trauma that links with attachmen issues. I have also worked as a supervisor for Bristol Bereavement service.
