Lyn is a fully qualified and full-time experienced Psychotherapist, Hypnotherapist, and Counsellor who works with her deep professional and personal experiences to help get to the root of client’s problems. Lyn works with adults, children & adolescents, and families. Lyn also offers clinical supervision.
Lyn can give you professional support and assist you in gaining insight and understanding about yourself, your relationships, and your life events. Lyn will provide you with the opportunity for you to talk about your thoughts and feelings in a safe and confidential environment. Lyn’s aim will be to build a trusting and honest relationship so you can work through the complex demands of life that you face, exploring and constructively working with issues, problems and underlying patterns of thoughts, feelings and behaviour in a fluid, empathic and non-judgemental way.
Prior to Lyn’s professional training as a Psychotherapist, Hypnotherapist and Counsellor, Lyn had a wealth of experience working within the Human Resources and Employment Law business arena and she draws upon this in her work with workplace counselling. Lyn’s core training is Integrative which is informed by Psychodynamic, Humanistic, Gestalt and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). Lyn can help you decide the most appropriate approach for your therapeutic work or this can be left to Lyn to decide based on what you hope to achieve.
Lyn has a wealth of experience providing therapy and has helped both adults, children and adolescent and families address a wide range of issues including: abuse, anger, anxiety, depression, family issues, relationship problems, beaviour problems, bereavement, child related issues, low self-confidence and low self-esteem, Obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), panic disorder, self-harm, separation and divorce, separation anxiety, stress, suicidal thoughts and work related stress.

The first appointment will be an assessment, where Lyn and you will decide if you feel you can work together. Should this be agreed, your therapy with commence with an open-time contract which means that wherever possible you will both commit to on-going therapy until you feel the work is complete. The initial assessment will include a full history take and the treatment plan, duration and frequency of further appointments will also be discussed and agreed.
As a guide, session fees are:-
Initial assessment – £50 to £70 (60/90 minutes session time depending upon presenting issues). This will be discussed and agreed at the time of enquiry.
Further Appointments – £50 per session (up to 60 minutes)
Low Cost Therapy Service –
Initial assessment – Free initial telephone assessment (30 minutes).
Further Appointments – £25 per session (up to 60 minutes).
Extended Appointments – £70 per session (90 minutes)
Extended sessions are advisable for clients who wish to work with hypnotherapy.
Couple’s Counselling – £60/£90 for initial assessment (60/90 minutes). Thereafter therapy sessions will be £60 or £90 depending upon the duration of the session (to be agreed at the assessment).
Family Therapy – £60/£90 for initial assessment (60/90 minutes). Thereafter therapy sessions will be £60 or £90 depending upon the duration of the session (to be agreed at the assessment).
Double Sessions (2 hours) are available for clients who want to cover a number of issues and get more done in a shorter space of time. Also couples find double sessions helpful because they provide good space for both parties to discuss their views and get to solving problems more quickly. The cost for a double session is £90 for individual clients and £110 for couples.
Quit Smoking – £175 for a one-off 3 hour session and a free booster session if required.
Lyn's practice is located at very safe and calming offices in central Braintree with easy access to the train and bus stations.
