P Dip in Integrative counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP)

About me

Hi, welcome to my listing. I understand that you may be worried or anxious about things right now.  If you need to talk, call me for a free initial consultation to see if counselling is right for you.

I'm a fully trained integrative counsellor and I am a registered member of the BACP. I can offer COVID-19 safe face to face sessions, Zoom sessions or Telephone counselling.

My work is firmly based in person centred therapy and I apply elements of compassion focussed and acceptance and commitment therapy.

What this means is we can work together in different ways, you may wish to just have a listening ear or you may wish to incorporate activities or learning strategies into your therapy. You are always in control of your therapy and what we do and we can take this at your pace.

I am happy to see clients for a wide range of issues that they may wish to discuss and I can offer therapy packages for issues such as anxiety. Please see my website for further details.

Training, qualifications & experience

I trained in integrative counselling at psychotherapy (level 6) at Staffordshire University. I have provided counselling for the NHS for the past 2 years and I have also worked within local mental health charities.

Whist working within the NHS I have also trained in workplace mediation and CISM (critical incident stress management).

I have a great deal of experience in working with both anxiety and depression. While I can't promise a 'fix', my clients normally notice a difference within a few sessions. Why don't I want to apply a fix? Well, the simple answer is you are not broken. The thoughts and feelings that you are experiencing are generally a normal reaction to the things that have happened to you or your life experiences.

Member organisations

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
