Lydia Browne Registered Member MBACP, Counsellor and Supervisor
I offer brief or short term counselling lasting from 6 sessions to a maximum of 24 sessions, depending on your needs or preference.
I have worked successfully with a wide range of issues that cause people sadness, or emotional distress and anxiety in their lives. This could be due to life events and situations that are happening now, or that occurred in the past.
Originally from London, I moved to Northampton 16 years ago, where I have had 11 years experience as a counsellor. I am also a qualified supervisor of counsellors. When not counselling I enjoy many creative activities, mindfulness and music.
My aim is to encourage people to find peace and develop their resilience, even in the midst of challenging circumstances and I feel privileged to have met and helped many people from a wide range of backgrounds, overcome life's struggles over the years.
Please contact me if you would like to know more about coming to see me for counselling.
Employee Assistance Programme and GP referrals welcome.
How I work
I offer a talking therapy that is approachable and tailored to your specific needs.
Our sessions will be interactive; there will be a constant dialogue between us, and you will be listened to without judgement.
Our focus will be to enable you to talk through your feelings openly and explore how your situation is affecting your life, and exploring what you would like to change.
Our aim would be to look at how you can look towards a more positive future, so you can begin to live your life the way you want to.
You will gain new perspectives about yourself, your situation and your choices.
I work in a discreet non-clinic setting from my comfortable home based counselling room. (see picture below).
Are you are experiencing personal and emotional difficulties and struggling to cope?
Do you have traumatic memories from your past that have resurfaced to cause you further distress?
Do you simply wish to talk to a someone for your own personal development?
The thought of talking to a compete stranger about your innermost feelings can seem scary. So well done for being brave enough to take the first step by looking at this page.
The next step would be for us to meet and discuss your needs.
So, please give me a call or email me, and we can arrange to meet. I would be happy to have a chat with you and answer any questions that you might have about coming to me for counselling.
