Stressed, anxious, self-critical?
We can all feel bad, broken or not good enough at times.
Maybe you hide your desires so that you’re not a ‘burden’.
Maybe your anxiety has you procrastinate, hating yourself for being 'useless'.
Or maybe you're stressed 'having to’ stay on top of things to feel in control...
These habits seem to serve something other than ourselves, and during stressful times; deaths, job changes, break ups, pandemics etc, they can be our breaking points. Could you slow down and stop living for others' expectations? Could you stop avoiding, approach what scares you, and start living by your own true values?
I would love to help you gain clarity.
Clarity around your self-defeating habits, and break the cycle. I want you to live in line with your values, I want you to feel secure in yourself, from a platform of acceptance, courage, and (steady yourself) self compassion.
So, how can I help?
I offer one-to-one psychotherapy and counselling sessions to adults, via Zoom (online video) and telephone, 9am-4pm, Monday-Friday.
I work to help clients explore their thoughts and feelings, gain insight into how their mind works, attain a more peaceful relationship with themselves, and become comfortable in their own skin. I don't diagnose and 'do' therapy to you, like a doctor. Nor do I sit back and nod, like a passive bobble head...
I work with you, as a collaborator. I listen, I ask questions, I demonstrate respect and understanding. I remain calm, impartial and invested in your growth, and I will challenge you.
Committing to therapy is a risk, and it takes courage to get started.
I offer a free 20-minute call (Zoom or phone) for you to see if we're a good fit, give me brief details of your situation and ask any questions you have. Email me to enquire and I will get back to you within two (working) days.

The Technical Jargon:
I hold an MSc in Integrative Counselling & Psychotherapy which taught Person-Centred Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Attachment Theory, and the Transtheoretical Model (TTM). My dissertation focused on Metacommunication (Communicating about our communication, you-and-me here-and-now), a central element of Interpersonal Therapy. I also have training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT).
I see myself as an Integrative Therapist akin to Erskine's (Erskine & Moursund, 2018) view of integration -- in the theoretical sense that I integrate various therapeutic modalities, and in the therapeutic sense that I aim to help each client integrate various conflicting, split-off parts of their self, into a more flexible, less defensive whole.
I also enjoy Hill's (2009) integrative model of exploration, insight and action, which informs me of the course of therapy: I utilise the Person-Centred core conditions to help build the therapeutic relationship and help clients explore their thoughts and feelings. I draw upon Interpersonal, Attachment and Cognitive ideas to help clients gain insight. And I use Cognitive and Behavioural skills to help foster action.

Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
