About me

Welcome. I'm an experienced psychotherapist and intensively trained dialectical behaviour therapist with genuine passion for supporting people in building meaningful lives and relationships. I enjoy working with individuals, couples and groups in-person and online via Zoom. As part of my commitment to support people in breaking out of stuckness and chronic suffering, I was trained and supervised in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Radically Open DBT (RO-DBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples and individuals, psychedelic-assisted therapy and body-oriented/somatic approaches.

When formulating your difficulties, we will explore the interplay between your emotional wellbeing, early experiences and the environments and relationships you're currently in. My practice is trauma-informed and I am skilled in a number of psychological disciplines and evidence-based practice to reduce self-harming behaviours and impulsivity and improve ability to regulate emotions and enhance relationships.

I am the founder of Mind-Reframed, a specialist team supporting people who are highly sensitive and experience difficulties in regulating their emotions, including those whose difficulties get described as "borderline personality disorder" in the medical world. Since 2015 we have been providing the intensive ‪programme in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy as developed by Dr Marsha Linehan for self-harm and intense emotionality. Along with my trusted colleagues I share Dr Linehan's vision to make compassionate and scientifically valid treatments available to people with complex emotional difficulties. More about us at www.mind-reframed.com/aboutus.

We currently provide eight DBT skills groups each week which can be attended in King's Cross, Angel or Online on Mondays at 5:45pm, Tuesdays at 4pm and 6pm, Wednesdays at 3:30pm and 6pm, Thursdays at 5:30pm and Saturdays at 10am or 12:15pm.

Mentalization-Based Therapy is another twice weekly programme we offer which is of particular relevance to those who would like to identify and work through thinking and behavioural patterns of relating to themselves and others that no longer serve them.

I have also continued my professional development in couple counselling and have special interest in supporting couples in regaining or enhancing their emotional intimacy. The approach I have found particularly transformative is based on Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy, pioneered by Dr Sue Johnson.

I see therapy as a collaborative, heart-centred process which aims to free you from emotional suffering and to raise your confidence to cope with life's challenges in new, creative ways. I work in an invitational, non-judgemental and gently challenging way.

For a number of years I also conducted the eight-week Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) for Depression programme in the NHS. Along with my colleagues at Mind-Reframed we have successfully supported over 500 private clients with similar difficulties since 2015.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
