About me
I believe that childhood and adolescence should be characterised by carefreeness and happiness. High quality therapy and living a good life goes beyond overcoming challenges and fixing problems. It’s about thriving! Living a life of meaning that you are proud of, and feeling accepted and valued for who you are.
I aim to build a positive therapeutic relationship founded upon understanding and appreciation for the individual person and their circumstances. This enables me to work effectively in highly individualised, collaborative and creative ways to benefit clients. My therapeutic work is rooted in cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT) but as an integrative therapist I am able to draw on a number of different models and flexibly adapt my approach to meet the particular needs of individual clients.
Additionally, I can offer ADHD assessments for children and young people age 6-17 years old.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registered Counselling Psychologist and qualified Integrative Psychotherapist registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP).
I have more than 1000 hours of experience in providing short and long-term therapy for children, young people and their families (age range 6-25 years). I can provide therapeutic support for difficulties such as ADD/ADHD, Adjustment Difficulties, Anxiety, Depression, Gender Identity, OCD, Self-Harm and more.
I am a psychology graduate and prior to training as a psychotherapist I worked as a Healthcare Assistant and Assistant Psychologist within the NHS in both Adult and Children and Adolescent Mental Health Services.
- I am committed to the ethical framework of the BACP
- DBS checked
- I am committed to continued professional development
- I attend regular supervision
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
