About me

Relationships are central to our lives. How we relate to ourselves, connect with others, and engage with the world around us shapes our well-being and influences how we navigate and experience life. At times, challenges in these relationships can leave us feeling stuck, overwhelmed or disconnected.

I work with clients on a wide range of issues related to both their relationship with themselves and their interpersonal relationships with others. These include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • anxiety,
  • low self-esteem,
  • low self-confidence,
  • attachment difficulties (such as emotional intimacy and trust),
  • anger,
  • stress and burnout,
  • depression,
  • addiction,
  • grief,
  • breakups,
  • infidelity,
  • infertility,
  • navigating complex family dynamics,
  • parenting,
  • loneliness,

These challenges are often deep-rooted or long-standing but can emerge or intensify, especially during periods of transition or change.

Seeking therapy is often a response to a need for clarity, peace, or the desire to be heard. It may also reflect a recognition that something in your life needs to change. Inner conflict can show up in various ways, such as fight, flight or freeze responses, unhealthy coping mechanisms, perfectionism or a harsh inner critic. These responses are often shaped by past experiences and beliefs, which profoundly influence how we see ourselves, connect with others, and navigate life's demands.

Therapy doesn't tell you what you should do - there is no single right way to live a content and fulfilling life. Instead, therapy provides a supportive space to explore what feels meaningful and authentic to you. In areas where you feel challenged, conflicted,  or burdened by unresolved pain, therapy can serve as a compassionate, non-judgmental, and unbiased mirror, helping to reflect back your patterns and beliefs.

As a developmental attachment and trauma-informed therapist, I can help you gain greater psychological insight, develop effective strategies for managing the present, deepen your understanding of your motivations and barriers, and make choices that align with your values and aspirations.

If you're ready to reflect more deeply on your experiences, I offer an empathetic and nurturing relationship where you can feel heard, understood, and encouraged as you work towards meaningful change.

For a considered look at how attachment issues impact relationships, explore my article on the Counselling Directory. It uses the characters of Emma and Dexter from the Netflix TV show One Day to illustrate these dynamics. You can find the link at the bottom of my profile.

Training, qualifications & experience

First class BSc (Hons) in Counselling and Psychotherapy.

In addition to my private practice I have worked with therapeutic agencies such as Choose Therapy and London Young Counselling.

I am trained in psychodynamic, person-centred, cognitive-behavioural (CBT) and existential therapies. As an integrative therapist, I use these approaches flexibly to meet you where you are and support your unique needs. I believe therapy is most effective when it is rooted in a compassionate space where you feel heard and understood and your individuality is honoured.

I have worked extensively in education, including cross-cultural work and supporting diverse learning needs and neurodivergence, such as ADHD and autism,  has given me valuable insights into the importance of flexibility and creativity in supporting individuals through their challenges and helping them build on their strengths.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
