About me

I am a Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist trained at the British Psychotherapy Foundation (BPF) and I am a full member of the Association of Child Psychotherapists (ACP). I have extensive experience working with children and adolescents and a specialist interest in working with adolescents.

Children and young people with the following difficulties could benefit from psychotherapy.

• Depression, sadness and low mood
• Anxiety, worry and panic disorders
• Social anxiety
• Separation anxiety and difficulties with new situations
• Fears and phobias
• Lack of confidence and self-esteem issues
• Obsessions and compulsions
• Traumatic experiences, such as abuse
• Bereavement and losses
• Anger, tantrums or aggressive behaviours
• Challenging or oppositional behaviours
• Eating and sleeping issues
• Family relationships or attachment difficulties
• Forming and maintaining friendships
• Self-harm or suicidal thoughts

I offer short term and long term therapeutic interventions to both young people (ages 0-25) and their families. Some young people benefit from a series of short-term sessions such as a block of 6 or 12 once weekly sessions, while others need longer term weekly work of a year or more.  In other circumstances the young person may benefit from a mixture of individual and joint family sessions. The individual needs of a young person and their family will be better understood after the initial assessment sessions and a treatment plan can then be agreed together.

Training, qualifications & experience

Alongside my private practice, I currently work in an NHS Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) in North London. I have experience of assessment and treatment of young people with a variety of emotional, social and behavioural difficulties, including depression, anxiety and self-harm as well as young people with neurodevelopmental disorders. I have a wide range of experience offering short term and longer-term interventions, including psychotherapy, parent work and family work. I have previously worked in other CAMHS services across North and South London, one of which was a specialist Under Fives service. I have completed a Doctorate focusing on Psychotherapy with Looked After Children.
