About me

A very warm welcome to you.

I am a fully qualified and registered counsellor in private practice, since 2017. I provide general counselling in addition to having a specialist background working with both gender identity and eating disorders.  I offer a person centred approach to support many of life's challenges and provide a confidential, safe environment where you can share what you think and how you feel, free of judgement.

I am a proud ally of the LGBTQIA+ community.

I offer online counselling across the UK.

I am an accredited member of The National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society and work within this ethical framework: https://nationalcounsellingsociety.org/ .

I am a member of The European Society for Trauma and Dissociation (ESTD): https://estd.org

My style of counselling is non-directive, relaxed and inclusive, which means our work together is designed around what you want and need. The work is supportive and respectful as we go at your pace and my aim is to get alongside you on your path, helping you explore your world to find understanding, clarity or solution. Sessions are centred around you and how you experience yourself and the world around you. You are free to come as you are and be accepted, as you are. You are in control of your path and I am a willing companion.

Eating Disorders: My approach to working with eating disorders / disordered eating (which includes binge eating, bulimia and anorexia) is both compassionate and gently challenging, supporting you to understand the 'why' as well as the 'what'.  Alongside the person centred approach we might use the principles of Radically Open Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (RO-DBT) to explore perfectionism, rigidity and rule driven ways of being, or we may use the framework of the addiction model to help make sense of your experiences. We will endeavor to find a way of working that feels right for you and I will always go at your pace, your autonomy and agency supported and maintained.

GSRD (Gender, Sexual and Relationship Diversity): I have specialist training and several years experience working with gender identity, offering a safe space to explore gender incongruence and questioning. I am a proud ally of the LGBTQIA+ community and offer an inclusive and validating space to explore Queer experience.

Deciding to seek some support is a big step and can feel scary, so finding the right counsellor for you is really important. Please feel free to get in touch and make an appointment for a free of charge, informal, initial consultation (20mins) so that you can decide if I’m the right person for you to work with. Please feel welcome to reach out with any questions you may have about working together. Further details can be found on my website. Thanks for reading.
