I am a compassionate and experienced Psychodynamic and Eco therapist, with a warm and friendly approach, who will provide you with a safe space to allow you to become curious and more self-aware.
You may be struggling to cope or at a point in your life where you need support and want to have a deeper understanding of why you feel the way you do. I am here to walk alongside you, as we explore together your sense of how you are feeling.
My sole focus is to gently support your emotional well-being at a time when you might need it and to provide you with the insight and tools you might need so that you can thrive and live a more fulfilling and meaningful life.
Although I am grounded as a Psychodynamic therapist, I also draw on other ways of working, which includes; grounding mindfulness techniques, compassion-focused therapy, play and CBT. This means our sessions can be flexible and creative, exploring different therapeutic tools and philosophies, which may best suit your needs and your therapeutic journey.
I am also able to offer you the opportunity of taking your sessions outdoors into nature. I believe in the healing benefits of the natural world and have undertaken specialised training to be able to offer this to clients.
Nature can be a powerful container and can provide an additional positive psychological aspect to the therapeutic and well-being process. Giving you the option to walk in nature means you can access the benefits of conventional therapy, whilst also accessing the benefits of your natural surroundings.
Training, qualifications & experience
I completed my BACP accredited Psychodynamic Therapeutic training in 2017. I have been working with a full range of clients since 2016, which also includes providing 'covid recovery' therapy for NHS clients.
I have gained further specialised training in Adult and Childhood Trauma at Wealden College and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy at WPF Therapy in London.
I have also trained in Nature Allied Psychotherapy with the Nature Therapy School and can offer 'walking and talking' sessions in nature.
I have particular interest and experience in supporting those struggling with: Childhood and adult trauma, Sexual abuse, Depression, Anxiety, Panic, Relationship difficulties, Attachments, Life transitions, Loss and Intrusive thoughts.
I am fully insured for indoor and outdoor work, as well as a registered member of BACP, and therefore adhere to the BACP code of ethics.
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
