About me

Welcome! I specialise working with Children & young people, I also work with adults. I would love to be alongside you in yours or your child’s path to wellbeing. We would work therapeutically together in our counselling space. You can choose from either Rawtenstall, Crawshawbooth or Manchester City Centre. I have therapy rooms in the Norther quarter, Canal street & the Oxford Road area. Home visits are also possible via a FREE telephone assessment.

Searching for a Counsellor for yourself or someone else can be confusing and difficult; You deserve to find the right person to be there alongside you through your difficulties or pain. I promise to be accepting & non-judgemental. You can talk confidentially about whatever it is you bring. You will be listened to carefully, with empathy.                                                                                               I am a purely person Centered therapist. I would like to invite you into a therapeutic space that is warm & comfortable, a space where you can explore your world and troubles, with me there alongside to support you and to try and understand from where you sit! I am a friendly, approachable person, your thoughts & feelings will be valued. With me there will be no pressure, take your time & under the right circumstances, healing will begin. I do not give advice, you will discover the path you seek, it will stem from you, and I will support you in finding the root.

Testimonials

"Lucy has provided her counselling services to adults and children alike for a few years now and we only have positives to say about her!! She has not only provided excellent, person-centred approaches but she has proven to be flexible and has fit into our school culture and ethos. She is always creative and sensitive in her work and it is clear that professionalism and the client's well being is the ultimate priority. She is always willing to go the extra mile and has led meetings, is willing to provide training and give on the spot advice when necessary. The client is always at the heart of everything she does. Her whole presence is calming and open and she is always very easily approachable to help in whichever way she can.
I cannot recommend Lucy highly enough!"- Janet V- SENCO at a Comprehensive Primary School

"Really appreciated Lucy's help, I feel so positive about how far I have come with her help. If I hadn't had Lucy as a Counsellor I strongly feel that I would have been too worried to come off the medication. I really loved the help Lucy gave me and I will miss her, thank you Lucy"- Emma G- Client

"Of all the people I have seen since my illness, both Counsellors and social workers, Lucy was the best. I felt completely comfortable talking about deeply personal issues and she made the environment welcoming and judgement free. Having this space helped me address these issues which improved my condition and wellbeing. Lucy suited my needs perfectly and she is the kind of person who can adjust to fit your requirements. I always left our sessions feeling more positive than I did before. I thoroughly recommend Lucy to anyone seeking professional help- Guy M- Client

My primary therapy style is Person-Centered, in its simplest expression this means I will value you, I will not judge you, you will be accepted for who you are, and I will be transparent and truthful with you. Only you know, underneath what is painful. As a Counsellor I wish to guide a path through your pain and problems, hand in hand. I hope to form a true and trusting bond with you, one where you will feel relaxed enough to talk and discover what is happening for you that is causing imbalance and disruption. From that place, healing and energy can grow. I will listen to you.

At the heart of my therapy with you will lie the Person-Centered philosophy. Although as an integrative therapist I will work to tailor our Counselling sessions to you or your child’s individual needs. This means that I will draw on other avenues of psychotherapy to support your healing process, so you can move forward to where you want to be as soon as possible.

Thank you for reading, well wishes, Lucy
