Lucy Chave Dip.Couns. MBACP, Adults and Young People
43 Downing Street
Parklands, Railton Road
I am an experienced counsellor working with adults and young people on a variety of life issues including, anxiety, self esteem, exam stress, self harm, anger, depression, stress, relationships and grief. I provide confidential counselling in professional offices in central Farnham and Guildford. I am a registered BACP member.
As an integrative counsellor, I work in a flexible way with you drawing on a range of therapeutic theories to meet your individual needs. I work in an empathic and non-judgemental way that provides you with a safe space to work through your challenges.
In addition to my private practice, I work with clients in a 6th Form college. I also have many years experience working in corporate environments.
Counselling is a personal journey and my role is to be by your side as you take it. I believe everyone can fulfill their own potential and that counselling allows you to see new possibilities within your world that may give you a different view on life. I do not tell you what to do, but I listen so that you can become clearer about what you are experiencing and come to a deeper personal understanding of what you are going through and who you are.
Talking to a qualified counsellor who is separate from your everyday life allows you to be heard and to explore present and past challenges to see them in a new light. Building a trusting relationship is key to the counselling process so that you can find emotional release and gain clarity to what has been concerning you. Within this relationship you can speak freely and openly without judgement or interruption which allows you to dig deep into your inner emotions. You can reach greater confidence, self awareness and a greater understanding of difficulties leading to better acceptance of your challenges.
