About me
I have been around the world of therapy for over 34 years and have been working with individuals for 32. I offer short and long term psychotherapy, depending on your needs. I work with adults and teenagers.
I can help you with relationship issues, addiction, anxiety, phobias, eating disorders and depression. If you are struggling within a relationship, you can come to talk to me about how the feelings evoked in your relationship may be triggering past events. Anxiety usually masks other issues, as does depression and I am happy to help you look at those concerns.
I am registered with the UKCP in their Humanist and Integrative section. I work psychodynamically so will help you look at issues from the past in such a way that they do not inflame your present. My aim is to help you sustain yourself in times of difficulty. I encourage growth, inner strength, self reliance and resilience.
I also have a three year training in transpersonal psychotherapy which will help you gain a greater understanding of your inner world. I work with individuals around dealing with difficult behaviour so if you have any work issues, I can help you with those too. I am well informed around assertiveness skills and combine this with confidence building.

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
