About me

I am a compassionate and dedicated counsellor supporting individuals through their personal journey. Sometimes you maybe be struggling with issues that make that journey to self-discovery very overwhelming and can have a sense of feeling "stuck".

I'm here to support you through that pathway by creating a safe space without judgement. I will actively listen and empathise where you can feel heard and understood.

It can be difficult to open up to people close to you or maybe you're in a position whereby that isn't an option. I work using a Person-Centred Approach which enables you to explore your issues, beliefs and feelings as well as building confidence in yourself to make choices you are comfortable with.

I'm happy to support you with whatever you bring whether that be suffering with anxiety or depression. I've worked with people who have experienced all forms of sexual violence, suicide, self-harm and other forms of trauma. I also have a special interest in Neurodiversity.

I offer short or long term therapy and mainly work evenings. Sessions are for an hour and I offer a free 20 minute consultation when you make contact.

I offer online or telephone sessions only.

Please contact me by phone or email if you wish to have an initial chat.

Training, qualifications & experience

  • CPCAB Level 4 Therapeutic Counselling diploma
  • CPCAB Level 3 Therapeutic Counselling
  • CPCAB Level 2 Counselling skills

I have achieved further qualifications in areas relating to Sexual Violence, Suicide and Self Harm and completed regular CPD to develop and enhance my skills as a professional counsellor.

I have worked within person centred roles such as working with learning disabilities, mental health and sexual violence charities as well as within the Armed Forces.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
