About me

The movement towards healing

At challenging times, it seems easier to ignore the pain and turn away from what's 'injured' within us. Indeed this may feel the only way to keep going.

Often we find that this strategy hasn't worked and what we haven't faced, comes back. It wants to be heard and seen. Until the pain is understood and 'digested', it can stop us in our growth and the enjoyment of life.

Healing isn't about getting over the pain. It's about making sense of it so it stops taking all the space in our life. The movement to healing is different for each of us. It may include counselling, coaching, mindfulness or a somatic practice such as Yoga. Or it may comprise a combination of these. It will always be unique to you.

I have experienced first-hand the benefits of these modalities at different times of my life. They helped me gain clarity and self-awareness, motivation to see the path ahead and strength to take the next step on it.

How I work

In my work as a qualified humanistic integrative counsellor and an executive, life and therapeutic coach, I aim to offer this same support to you as my client.

As a counsellor, I offer a safe, non-judgmental and empathic space where I support you to focus, understand and reflect on what has brought you to the session. This process helps you identify blockages to your psychological health and empowers you on their path towards flourishing, growth and balance.

Both in coaching and counselling, I find it extremely rewarding to see clients gain clarity and progress in life thanks to our work together. I strongly believe in adopting a holistic approach in all my sessions with clients. I do this by facilitating creative and solution-focused thinking to encourage clients' insights and unique potential for growth and fulfilment.

My counselling approach emphasises your unique potential for growth and fulfilment. It is holistic and creative in unblocking disruptions to psychological health and enabling strength and choice in the ‘here and now'. I integrate coaching skills in my counselling practice when you are ready to work on specific goals.

I use a blend of modalities tailored to suit your needs as a client. This is because my approach honours your uniqueness as an individual and as the expert in relation to your life. In fact, I believe that every individual is creative, resourceful and able, with guidance, to discover their answers and solutions.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
