About me

Deciding to seek support and finding the right person to guide you can feel overwhelming at first. But know that you're not alone in this journey. Choosing a counsellor is a deeply personal decision, and it's essential that you feel comfortable and connected for the process to truly benefit you.

Your path to self-awareness and understanding may unfold in unexpected ways but taking that first step towards responsibility to yourself is empowering. In counselling, you'll discover a welcoming sanctuary, free from judgment, where you can delve into your thoughts and emotions, gaining clarity about yourself, your surroundings, and the people in your life.

As an Integrative Psychotherapeutic Counsellor, I blend various therapeutic approaches to tailor each session to your unique needs. Drawing from Humanistic, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and Psychodynamic methods, solution-focused, along with other techniques like expressive work. I create a personalised, confidential space where you can freely explore your innermost thoughts and experiences. My experience spans across different age groups, including young persons and young adults, addressing diverse needs with empathy, and understanding.

To start our journey together, I offer a complimentary 15-minute online session. This initial meeting is an opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have, discuss scheduling, and get a feel for what our sessions will entail. There's no pressure to continue if it doesn't feel right for you.

Training, qualifications & experience

Drawing from years of dedicated study and practical experience, I've cultivated a strong foundation in psychology, education, and psychotherapeutic counselling. My journey includes earning degrees in Psychology and Education, alongside attaining a Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling. These qualifications underpin my expertise and commitment to providing high-quality support.

Believing in the value of ongoing learning, I pursued a Master's level in Psychotherapy to deepen my understanding and refine my skills. My extensive background includes diverse experiences, including working within the NHS IAPTUS talking therapies and serving as a school counsellor and mental health practitioner across various settings. This breadth of experience informs my holistic approach, enabling me to tailor support that meets your individual needs comprehensively.

As a registered member of the BACP (British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists), and the NCIP (National Council of Integrative Psychotherapists) I adhere to strict ethical standards, ensuring the safety and well-being of my clients. Being part of these esteemed associations underscores my commitment to professional excellence.

My practice offers face-to-face and online sessions, providing clients with greater accessibility and flexibility. Please reach out via email or telephone to further discuss your needs. I'm eager to connect with you and support you on your path to healing and growth. I am looking forward to our conversation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Further information

First session:

Our initial session serves as an assessment, providing us with an opportunity to delve into your unique circumstances and needs. This comprehensive assessment typically lasts 50 minutes and is priced at £60. During this session, I'll guide you through a series of questions, writing down your responses to gain a deeper understanding of your situation.

By the end of the assessment, I aim to grasp a foundational understanding of your requirements, ensuring that our work together aligns with my expertise and ethical standards. This assessment is crucial for establishing whether I can support you effectively and safely. If, for any reason, I determine that counselling may not be the best fit, I'll offer recommendations for specialised support or refer you to appropriate resources.

Ultimately, this assessment serves as a compassionate and thorough exploration of your needs, paving the way for us to embark on a journey of healing and growth together.
