With more than 10 years experience as a counsellor, I offer a safe, friendly & confidential service for individuals 16 years and over who are experiencing anxiety & stress disorders, depression & other mental health issues.
My roots are in person centered counselling but I also have training in CBT and mindfulness. This means I give clients space to explore their thoughts and feelings at their own pace, a supportive space to help one find the resources and reach your own decisions based on what is right for you. Problems can sometimes seem overwhelming and it's often difficult to see a way forward. Sometimes we need a gentle reminder that they are there and how best to use them.Therapy can help people work through their difficulties, make positive changes and help relieve emotional distress.
I also work with clients using CBT and mindfulness techniques. CBT looks at how our thoughts, feelings and behaviour are interlinked. It is easy to get stuck in a cycle of negative thinking and behaviour patterns and CBT can help with breaking this cycle.
I have worked for over 10 years in various NHS settings. I have also worked within an Occupational Health setting & a Suicide Prevention Helpline. I have an ongoing commitment to continuing professional development & have attended several workshops to support my counselling approach.
