About me

Hi, I'm Louise, a qualified counsellor and Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) Practitioner.

Are you feeling anxious, uncertain, unfulfilled or unhappy? Perhaps you distract yourself from your thoughts and feelings with unhelpful behaviours such as avoiding family or friends, drinking, taking drugs or by not taking care of yourself? Maybe you recognise you've become stuck in a rut and want to help yourself out of it?

Whether you're seeking support for navigating life transitions, managing stress and anxiety, or exploring deeper questions of meaning and purpose, I am here to support you on your journey.

Every person I meet is unique and therefore there is not one specific therapy that suits all.  As an integrative counsellor, I use a range of therapeutic approaches to provide personalised support to meet your individual needs, goals, and preferred ways of learning and growing.

My integrative approach blends techniques from various counselling modalities, including: person-centred therapy, cognitive-behavioural therapy, transactional analysis and mindfulness-based interventions.

I am also a certified practitioner of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP). This is a powerful modality that explores the relationship between your thoughts, language, and behaviour. By understanding these interconnected patterns, we can work together to shift any limiting mindsets, enhance communication skills, and unlock new possibilities for personal growth.

I will provide you with a safe and non-judgemental environment where you can explore your thoughts and feelings. I’ll help you to make sense of your personal experiences, which may provide you with new perspectives on your past and the way you view your future. Together we will find new ways to manage or change the difficult situations you are facing.

From anxiety and low-self-esteem through to emotional distress, depression or trauma, you'll receive a warm, compassionate understanding and a confidential space, where we'll work together to explore those issues, feelings, beliefs or behaviours.

Counselling can be short or long term, focusing on a specific issue or addressing wider life challenges.

If you're wondering, after reading this, whether I might be the right counsellor for you, please get in touch for an initial chat so that we can have a conversation to help you make your mind up.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
