About me

I WORK WITH

women and young adults online and face to face (I currently only have on-line availability)

ABOUT ME

I am a fully qualified NHS trained (BACP) registered counsellor, Kinesiologist and coach who specialises in working with anxiety (stress management) and relationships.  I have a special interest in supporting women with hormonal issues and through menopause and the effect stress has on the body as well as the mind.

Is overwhelm and anxiety having a negative impact on your mental and physical health?

Do you feel low, burnout and fatigued?

Is your anxiety affecting your confidence and self esteem or causing difficulties with your relationship or maybe you have just lost direction in life or feel you have been fobbed off by the doctors with anti-depressants without being heard or having your physical symptoms addressed?

If you are experiencing any of the above. I specialise in womens stress and relationship issues and will offer you 100% support with the changes you may want to make in your life.

I will provide you with confidential and genuine therapy to help you by:-

  • Exploring patterns of behaviour and  communication difficulties in order to help you  develop healthier relationships.
  • Improving self esteem and self care.  Help you to set boundaries for yourself and recognise any sabotaging behaviours.
  • Get to the root cause of your anxiety as well as providing you with the tools to reduce your anxiety and make some lifestyle changes to support manage stress levels and improve your wellbeing.

I offer a free initial phone consultation so we can get to know each other and you can decide whether you feel comfortable talking to me. Relationship is key to the counselling process so this is an important step and if you decide to go ahead from here we will decide on a suitable time and location for you.

    EXPERIENCE

I have extensive counselling experience gained in a number of settings. As well as my private practice I have worked in doctors surgeries, schools and  Employee Assistance Programmes providing coaching and counselling for employees in the work place.

Through these roles I have gained experience in working with issues such as anxiety, work related stress management, depression,  addiction, abuse and relationship problems amongst others.

I have taken further training in kinesiology and coaching and incorporate this with my counselling to use a holistic approach to treat both the mind and body.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
