Hello, my name is Louise Legg and I am here to help you feel healthier. I offer online therapy and 'walk-and-talk' therapy from my home in Thorntonhall and other green locations.
I will listen to you, respond to you, and help you to gain perspective and insight into what is troubling you. I offer consultations throughout the week. You can book an initial 30-minute FREE online consultation here where we can discuss how best to proceed. Subsequent sessions are by telephone or video conference, or on an in-person gentle ‘walk-and-talk' following a 50-minute route around the peaceful village of Thorntonhall. Concessions are available for key workers and full time students.

Walk-and-talk therapy is a rapidly growing practice where therapist and client take sessions outside, off the therapy couch, and walk side-by-side in a more natural setting. Walk-and-talk therapists believe in the combined therapeutic benefits of talk therapy combined with physical activity and nature exposure. Individuals who engage in physical activity and nature exposure report improvements in mood, clearer thinking, and increased creativity. Walk-and-talk clients report that walk-and-talk is a full-body, multisensory experience that helps them feel better, think more clearly, and embody and remember their therapeutic experience months or even years later. Clients report feeling like their conversation flows more easily and it is less intimidating to walk side-by-side with their therapist versus sitting face-to-face in an office setting.

Training, qualifications & experience
I am a registered psychotherapist with the BACP, follow a Person-Centred Approach and am trained in Emotion Focused Therapy (Level 1). I am currently undergoing further doctoral training, with a focus on the benefits of gentle outdoor exercise for mental health.
Experiencing psychotherapy as a client 15 years ago changed me profoundly. I experienced feelings of sadness about the struggle I was in, worry about being able to make the changes I needed and ultimately happiness when I became healthier.
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Online consults will work from any device, such as a mobile phone, tablet or laptop, with a camera and microphone and do not require you to download any software.
