Psychotherapeutic approach /Person centred Therapist/Individual and Couples Therapist. I have experience with Couples and individuals Counselling with over 20 years of experience working with families .Including blended families, and divorce and separation .Her experience includes Parenting programmes and Women's wellbeing workshop as well as working intensively with various client groups.

I am a Parenting facilitator and I am trained in delivering self esteem and wellbeing courses.

As a psychotherapeutic therapist I enjoy working with couples within an attachment based approach . I also use an coaching approach with couples to help them communicate in a different way and to facilitate couples to develop empathetic listening in a more nurturing and emotionally focussed way. I use different approaches to build on the strengths of the couple and help to build resilience by using different strategies. I help the couple to try and develop a coproduced plan to work towards .

I have worked in various settings within the Charity and Children and Families sector and has considerable knowledge on loss and bereavement, parenting issues, mental health and addiction issues, relationship issues and child hood trauma.I have worked therapeutically with families as well as individuals and couples for over 20 years.I like to incorporate warmth and empathy into the sessions.I introduce an environment where the couple feel safe to open up and discuss difficult feelings.

In my approach and during the counselling sessions I seek to engage the couple in exploring their motivations within the relationship . I explore what drives them forward to either restore and repair or decide to take time out to see whether this is what they want for the future which is part of the therapeutic process.

The sessions help couples and individuals have space to talk about different feelings within the relationship without judgement. My role is to facilitate this process, so that the couples feel productive and that they can focus on their relationship without the normal daily distractions.

I may gain some family history of your own lived experiences of what makes a healthy relationship.I may also explore you experiences of family life from childhood.

In my work with couples I have look at themes which are important and integral to any relationship and look at peoples individual communication styles.

Communication is fundamental in any relationship and forms the basis of a strong attachment which can enhance positive interaction and help the couple to understood a more empathetic style of communication.

I have worked with different client groups both individually and with Couples . I often use different techniques such as the person centred approach ,tractional analysis ,mindfulness, emotional focussed approach and other tools when working with couples.
Counselling for everyone

If you would like to discuss any issues you feel are holding you back or if you are going through a difficult period in your life, it can sometimes be hard to ask for help, so contacting a counsellor maybe the first step to exploring those issues holding you back. Please feel free to contact me for an initial chat and at that point we can discuss whether you feel you would like to book a further consultation and weekly sessions.

We will look at, what you would like to get from the counselling experience, in the first Initial consultation and then I will see clients on a weekly basis for 50 minute sessions. If you feel you need longer or more frequent sessions, this can be discussed at the Initial stage.

I can also be contacted by phone, email or Instagram on south_westlondoncounselling and through the Counselling Directory.
