Louise Jarvis MA MBACP
When life gets difficult it can be unsettling to seek help, just when you need it.
Reaching out and trusting others can feel even more difficult. It’s at these times that counselling can make a real difference, essentially by providing an opportunity to understand yourself but also to provide support, guidance and a space to reflect, so that you can find your own solutions and make change.
We are all responsible for our own lives and I believe it’s possible to move on from difficult feelings to a place of making choices.
Would you like to understand yourself better? Would you like to gain more self awareness, find the root cause of your difficulties and how to manage these?
My particular area of interest is the unconscious, how it affects us and our patterns of behaviour – it is often unconscious dynamics that keeps individuals stuck in their lives or experiencing feelings they cannot understand or cope with.
By looking at possible links in current difficulties to past experiences it can provide a space to learn something new, to become unstuck and find a new path.
I work with clients facing a broad range of problems including anxiety, stress, depression, bereavement, low self esteem, relationship difficulties, loss, phobias and more.

About Psychodynamic Therapy - Sometimes we need to understand the past to deal with the present. Current problems can often arise from unresolved conflicts originating from our early childhood. Psychodynamic therapy can help you to recognise and work through the many unconscious resistances or defences that we harness to our lives. Repeated patterns of behaviour can be debilitating but by becoming more aware and understanding the source, it can provide you with the opportunity to make change.
