Louise Jarvis MA MBACP
Do you have anxiety, relationship issues, depression, not sure how to move forward or need someone to hear you?
You may be at a crisis point or just wanting to understand yourself better and what makes you behave in certain ways.
I understand that starting counselling can sometimes be a daunting process. My role is to help you navigate your way through your feelings and thoughts and to support you in discovering the outcome of your desires, needs and hopes.
By working closely together in a safe, confidential and gentle manner, we can explore these with the aim of gaining insight and understanding that can aid you now and in the future.
I strongly believe that becoming more self aware and understanding our patterns of behaviour it can provide us with opportunity to make positive change.
I have had alopecia (hair loss) from a young age and feel this has hugely influenced my work, especially in regard to difference, loss, self confidence and identity. Also, having worked in a very stressful, fast paced environment for many years, I appreciate how it can feel to be faced with pressure, tension and anxiety associated with the workplace.
I fully understand how life can throw challenges at us at any time!
I am fully qualified with a Masters degree in Counselling and have been practising for several years. As well as my private practice with individual adults I also work with children in schools, some severely traumatised. I find my work incredibly rewarding and feel privileged in helping my clients move in the directions they hope for.

About Psychodynamic Therapy - Sometimes we need to understand the past to deal with the present. Current problems can often arise from unresolved conflicts originating from our early childhood. Psychodynamic therapy can help you to recognise and work through the many unconscious resistances or defences that we harness to our lives. Repeated patterns of behaviour can be debilitating but by becoming more aware and understanding the source, it can provide you with the opportunity to make change.
