About me
In considering therapy you are acknowledging that life can be hard, and taking a step to make positive changes. Talking and thinking within a therapeutic setting can bring relief.
I provide a space to bring and process difficult feelings and thoughts, when it doesn’t feel possible to open up to family or friends. My practice offers a safe, warm and non-judgemental space, unique and separate from the rest of your life.
Perhaps you feel sad, anxious, overwhelmed or stuck? Perhaps you struggle with relationships or work situations? Perhaps you are dealing with a loss? Together we will explore the reasons why you feel the way you feel, and understand how your past influences you today. An increased understanding and insight into yourself can enable you to make positive changes in your life.
I have worked with people from all backgrounds and ages experiencing a variety of issues. Whatever your reasons for seeking therapy, I want to make you feel understood and connect with the ‘real you’.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a qualified Psychotherapist / Psychodynamic Counsellor and a registered member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP).
I previously worked for several years as a counsellor at a London University.
I addition to my private practice, I work as a counsellor for a charity providing support to those affected by cancer; both the cancer patients and their family members and friends.
In accordance to the BACP ethics and guidelines, I attend regular supervision.
Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
I offer a free phone consultation (up to 30 minutes) to breifly discuss your reasons for seeking therapy and for you to ask any questions you may have. The next step is to meet face-to-face or online for an initial exploratory session, to think further about what you want to get from therapy and to help you decide if I am the right therapist for you.
