About me

Just you, me and a cuppa tea: Therapy for stressed professionals with too much on their plate at work and home. Time to stop going it alone. I'm here to help you explore your feelings and find a way through what’s going on – no judgement or advice - just a trained listener who’s easy to work with.

Are you snowed under with life's pressures - feeling low with anxiety or depression? Perhaps you are struggling with stress, low self esteem and self- confidence, work or family relationship issues, or have suffered a loss in your life. When challenges build up, work-life balance and overall wellbeing can go out the window and it's hard to know where to start your journey to unpick what's happening, how you feel, how to move forwards and deal with things.

Contact me louise@thecorporatehaven.com to find out more, or phone 07765492818 and I'll be happy to have a quick chat and say hello to see if I can help.

The Corporate Haven is all about talking therapy for people struggling when the demands of work and life start to stack up

Life’s stresses can often leave us feeling overwhelmed, especially when managing the pressures of a demanding career alongside personal challenges. My therapy practice - the Corporate Haven, provides a safe space with a qualified therapist who has over 20 years of corporate experience, and truly understands the pressures of the business world and how this impacts your life. I will bring this unique perspective to offer you a safe, confidential space to park and unpack your stuff with a fellow professional.

While I specialise in supporting professionals navigating high-pressure or corporate roles, I am committed to supporting anyone experiencing emotional distress, whether related to the workplace or not. As well as working at senior level in the corporate world, I also have 10 years experience working in mental health for various crisis and support charities. I’ve worked with people facing a wide range of difficulties including low self-esteem, bereavement and loss, anxiety and depression, and relationship issues.

Like most of us, I juggle multiple roles in my life. Outside of my work, I’m mum to two boys, and a proud northern lass with an unshakeable love for markets, indie music, and life’s simple pleasures.

A Safe Space to Park, and Unpack your Stuff

In today’s fast-paced business world, juggling multiple responsibilities can be overwhelming. You’re constantly:

  • Meeting deadlines and expectations
  • Balancing work and personal life
  • Seeking ways to improve performance and find those 1% gains.

When personal and professional challenges start to pile up, it’s easy to feel stuck. You may be experiencing stress, burnout, anxiety or depression, struggling with self-esteem, loss of self-confidence or dealing with wider issues such as relationship problems at home or in work, family issues, or have suffered a loss.

The Corporate Haven offers a confidential space with a professional listener who truly understands the pressures of the business world and how this can impact your life alongside other life challenges.

Here, you can:

  • Create a specific time and space to talk about how you are feeling
  • Validate your experience with someone who isn't going to tell you want to do
  • Gain clarity on complex issues
  • Develop strategies for better work-life balance
  • Work with someone to develop solutions to your problems or find new ways to cope
  • Enhance your leadership skills and increase emotional intelligence
  • Build resilience against stress, anxiety, depression and burnout.

I understand that life’s challenges don’t confine themselves to just the workplace or personal sphere. This therapy service is designed to support you through a wide range of experiences.

Training, qualifications & experience

Hi, I’m Louise, I’m a person-centred therapist.

Background

  • Prior to training as a therapist, I spent 10 years working in mental health, working for various crisis and support charities nationally and locally to me in the North West. In 2018 I took the decision to begin training as a therapist and now have a portfolio career doing what I love – which is helping to bring about positive change and growth, putting client needs at the heart.
  • As well as my private practice, I also work as a remote counsellor for Deafblind UK, supporting clients with dual sensory loss.
  • Through my work at organisations including Manchester Rape Crisis, Trafford Carers, the NHS, and DeafBlind UK, I have gained varied experience working with people facing a wide range of difficulties including stress, burn-out, work-life balance, low self-confidence and self-esteem, bereavement and loss, anxiety, depression and relationship issues.
  • Outside of my therapy work, I work in business development where my focus is on helping socially and environmentally motivated businesses grow. I typically work at senior level interfacing to the executive. I work in large corporate organisations and understand the pressures , and challenges of juggling a busy home life, alongside life stuff, and a demanding role.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Additional information

Sessions can be booked by contacting me by email here or by phone/text 07765 492818.

Sessions are usually held weekly, typically at the same time and day, but I am happy to be flexible around frequency and times. Normally clients tend to have therapy over a number of weeks – this is completely individual – some clients attend for weeks, months or some even longer. We will review as we go along how our work is going and frequency.

The first session is an opportunity for us to properly meet, explore what has brought you to therapy, and for me to explain the therapy, so you understand what is involved, and decide if we are a good fit.

I can usually arrange an initial appointment within a few weeks.
