About me

My name is Louise, I’m an integrative counsellor and psychotherapist. I am empathetic, kind and compassionate. I am here to support you through your hardest times. Thank you for looking at my profile and learning more about me.

All of us, at some point in our lives, experience challenges and hardship. You may be suffering from depression, anxiety and overwhelm. You may have recently had a bereavement or be struggling with relationships. Whatever you are going through and whatever you are feeling. You are not alone. I offer a safe, empathetic, caring and non-judgmental space where I can help you. We can work together to understand and process the thoughts and emotions that are causing your distress. In doing this we can then work towards building the future that you want and deserve.

My goal as a therapist is to walk beside you, guide and support you through the challenges you are facing, helping you move towards a more positive future. I can help you let go of self limiting beliefs and support you in creating a rich and meaningful life. I will provide you with one to one support, explore your needs, work through trauma together, learn to manage your feelings and let go of fear.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a member of BACP (British Association of Counselling Psychotherapists) and work within their ethical guidelines. I have extensive training and experience working with Children and Adults. I currently work with Headstrong counselling service, where I assess and counsel adults, and I have my own private practice. I have also worked with Place2be, a charity in schools, counselling children and young people. I have training in various therapeutic styles including talking therapy, psychodynamic, CBT, person centred and existential therapy. This means that I can tailor a unique approach to you as an individual. This approach has proven to be highly effective.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
