About me

Hello, my name is Louise and I am a fully qualified integrative counsellor, meaning my sessions are individually tailored to you. I use Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) Person Centred Therapy and Psychoanalysis fluidly to match the needs of each session. In using an integrative model I am able to draw together the best parts of each theory supporting you and enabling you to move forward.

I work with a variety of age groups and differing issues but specialise in working with low mood, low self-esteem/confidence, feelings of worthlessness, disordered eating and adapting to change.

I am experienced working with teenagers in various education settings. If you have a teenager who is feeling anxious, angry, or sad and however hard you or school try, nothing seems to help - or possibly seems to make things worse?

  • Are they experiencing exam stress?
  • Are they struggling following a bereavment (this can include pets)?
  • Unsettled by moving house /school?
  • Are they finding it tough to adjust to a change in family dynamics: separation/divorce?

Then for some teenagers, simply having someone with whom to talk through their difficulties, who is completely independant, can really help.

I have a personal interest and have completed extensive additional research within maternal mental health. I am experienced working with "mothers to be" and new mothers, acknowledging the differing challenges and changes this transition can bring. I work with a charity offering perinatal support.

I also work with new fathers who are also struggling to adapt to their new role and the impact of that adjustment.

I work from professional therapy rooms which cover the Warrington and Widnes area. I offer safe, confidential and non-judgemental counselling. Each session allows you the time, space and opportunity to talk through the issues which are important to you, understand what you need and then we work together to enable you to move forward.

“it is the client who knows what hurts, what directions to go, what problems are crucial, what experiences have been deeply buried" (Carl R. Rogers)

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
