Louise Chambers MBACP (Person Centred Counsellor and EFTMR Practitioner)

Wigan, Greater Manchester, WN2

About me

I’m Louise and I am a Person Centred Counsellor and an EFTMR Practitioner. I have also attended other trainings and this allows me to work in an integrative way. I look forward to working with you and helping you achieve the changes you wish to make.

More importantly, I feel, is the relationship between Counsellor and Client. This, enables a comfortable and safe place for you to begin to even contemplate exploring what’s bought you to Counselling.

I wanted to emphasise here my understanding of how difficult it can be for some people to Consider coming for Counselling and may feel there is a pressure to talk. Please let me reassure you that there will be no pressure at all. The session is yours to use and work at your own pace.

I have experience of working as a Counsellor in a GPs surgery, as part of the Social Services Family Support Team, at a centre for people suffering Domestic Abuse and at Wigan Family Welfare working with adult clients as well as working with Children in schools and Young people.

I would like to write some more information on EFTMR for those who were wondering. The EFT bit stands for Emotional Freedom Technique (also known as Tapping) which put very simply means removing the intensity of emotion from an event. When you do this correctly and thoroughly you can think of an event that would normally trigger lots of emotion and this will no longer happen because the emotion is gone. The MR bit means Matrix Re-imprinting which simply put is working with unprocessed memories and changing a negative memory to a positive memory. This is a very useful technique for trauma

I hope this gives you an idea of who I am and how I work.

I hope you find the Counsellor that is right for you and you get the help you need.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
