About me

I am a qualified counsellor and hold a Foundation degree in The Art of Counselling covering the different schools of counselling and how to successfully integrate different theories enabling a healing therapeutic relationship to suit each individual need.

Working integratively means I can work with you holistically tailoring practice and interventions to suit your needs. As therapy progresses your needs may change and I will review sessions every 6 weeks or before if necessary.

I work from Colchester town centre, Castle Hedingham and Sudbury.

Training, qualifications & experience

Member organisations

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

I am a qualified counsellor and hold a Foundation degree in The Art of Counselling which I obtained at The University of Suffolk.

Working integratively means I can work with you holistically tailoring practice and interventions to suit your needs. As therapy progresses your needs may change and I will review sessions every 6 weeks or before if necessary.

I work collaboratively and interactively with my clients, this means I am part of the process, working with you to open up possibilities and choice. I am passionate about empowering people to take control of their lives.

What you require from counselling will be individual to you and we will look at this together. Whether it is a place to be seen and heard, a place of learning where you can discover new aspects of yourself or a place to learn new techniques in relating to you and to others. You may need to a space to grieve, let go of the past or explore future anxieties.

I offer a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space and an honest and authentic relationship in which we can explore what has brought you to counselling.

Clients often ask me how does change work? I have found through my training and my own experience of being a client that changes comes through self-awareness and acceptance. Through being open to oneself and others and looking at previous, current and future ways of being in the world.

I work with a variety of clients tackling many issues such as depression, low self-esteem, anxiety, work place bulling and relationship issues. I am also trained in working with clients with acquired brain injuries.

I work from Sudbury, Sible Hedingham and Colchester please feel free to contact me to check my availability or discuss counselling further .
