About me
My name is Louisa, and I provide affordable counselling for adults, children and young people.
I am a fully qualified and BACP Registered, Humanistic/ Integrative Counsellor, and I pride myself in providing a safe, confidential and professional counselling service. I have experience of working with a wide range of issues and with people of all age ranges.
I offer a free 30-minute consultation to help you decide if I am the right counsellor for you!
I am here to offer you support and guidance, regardless of the type of challenges you are facing or changes you want to achieve in your life.
As an integrative/ person-centred counsellor, I can combine various counselling theory and techniques to support you. This enables me to work flexibly and creatively, tailoring my work to your specific needs or goals.
My Counselling practice aims to give you the opportunity to explore your problems, distresses, or any difficult situations that you are experiencing in a confidential, non-judgmental, safe, and supportive environment. My aim is to make your counselling experience a positive and empowering one at a pace that best suits your needs.
As a Counsellor, I feel privileged to be part of your journey, and to help you navigate through your difficulties. By working together, we can find creative and positive ways forward for you by working through your problems using different techniques, helping you build on the skills you already possess, whilst learning new skills/ techniques to help you manage the difficulties you are facing.
We can often feel stuck and like it’s impossible to change things, especially if problems have been going on for a long time. But positive change is achievable!
I deliver therapy face to face at venues in Swansea and Neath, online therapy via platforms such as Teams, Zoom and Skype and telephone therapy sessions.
I offer long term and short-term sessions, and brief therapy.

Choosing the right counsellor is very important as a positive relationship between client and counsellor (what we counsellors call the therapeutic relationship) is important if therapy is to be successful. My aim is to develop an open, honest and genuine therapeutic relationship with you, providing guidance and support according to your needs. We will review regularly how you are finding our work together and how you are feeling between sessions. Our work focuses entirely around you and your needs and goals.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

The First Session
My aim at our first meeting is to provide you with a safe, secure and confidential space so that you are able to commence exploring what you would want from therapy and to ask any questions you may have. This first session gives you the opportunity to meet with me and decide if I am the right counsellor for you, as the counselling relationship is a vital part of the therapeutic process. If I am not the therapist for you, don't worry. It is of the upmost importance to me that you get the right support from the right therapist.
I offer a 30 minutes free consultation session over the phone, which can also help you decide if I am the counsellor for you.
