Lotte Petersen Reg. MBACP (Accred) is an experienced counsellor in private practice. She works with adult individuals and couples in short term, long term or time-limited therapy.
My approach is Person-centred and informs a holistic, flexible and creative way of working which is in particular response to you and your unique situation.
I offer a professional space and relationship where you, in your own time, can feel safe to explore whatever problems, difficulties and feelings you are experiencing.
As your therapist I will be present to your experience moment by moment so our joint active engagement can enable you to reconnect with your own inner resources and to gain new insights into yourself and your situation.
How Counselling can help
It is especially at times where life takes unexpected turns or we find ourselves stuck in situations, thoughts and feelings that impairs our well being and functioning, that Counselling can be a safe and confidential place 'to be with it all'.
Counselling offers you a place and a relationship where you have the freedom to be and explore whatever you need to without an imposed agenda or judgement.
It is a process that can enable you to gain understanding of yourself, discover your own solutions and make your own decisions.
What to expect in the Initial session
I offer an Initial session at the reduced price of £ 30,- which gives us the opportunity to meet each other, to talk about what brings you to therapy and what I can offer as well as time to clarify any questions you might have.
If we decide to work together, we will talk about the practicalities of our arrangement such as time and frequency of our counselling sessions.
Please feel free to call me on 07534 960390 to book an Initial session or if you need further information. You are equally welcome to leave a message or text me and I will get back to you as soon as possible.
My approach is Person-centred which is founded on the belief that each individual has the resources within themselves for healthy and fulfilled living.
However, these resources can become obscured through difficulties in relationships, our life experiences and predicaments, our environment and the choices we have made.
Person-centred Counselling is characterised by acceptance, deep understanding and openness on behalf of the therapist. There is no set agenda and you are free to explore any aspect of your experience or circumstances as you wish.
Training, qualifications & experience

My counselling practice is underpinned and supported by a long standing regular meditation practice.

Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
