About me

I support individual adults and adolescents from my Practice in Balham, South West London.

Throughout my working life, I have been involved in supporting, enabling and encouraging individuals to grow and change. Prior to training and qualifying as a Psychotherapist and Counsellor, I trained and worked as an Organisational  Psychologist.

I offer confidential face-to-face counselling and psychotherapy to help you gain a greater understanding of why you feel the way you do. I am trained to listen and offer a non-judgemental environment where you can talk through your problems and find ways of making choices to improve your quality of life.  I also offer online counselling services if you are unable to attend sessions.

I use a relational-integrative approach to Counselling and Psychotherapy. Literature has shown that the most important aspect for a successful therapy outcome is the relationship between the client and the therapist itself. Therefore, it is important to have an initial assessment session to ensure the relationship is beneficial for you.

I work with clients on an individual basis dealing with a wide range of issues. The length of time clients work with me varies according to the needs of each person and includes both longer term psychotherapeutic work as well as short term solution focused counselling. In broad terms, short term counselling will typically be 6 – 12 sessions whilst working psychotherapeutically at greater depth will take longer.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
