About me

Empowering YOU to Overcome Trauma and Embrace Your Authentic Self.

Hello! I’m Lorraine, at The Art of Thriving, where I am dedicated to helping women like you; who feel trapped by trauma, anxiety, depression and the demands of relationships and the balance of a difficult work-life.

My passion is to guide you toward a life where you feel empowered, authentic, and capable of expressing your needs without fear. Together, we will work to break free from patterns of people-pleasing and build a foundation for thriving in all areas of your life.

I'm Trauma-Informed and provide Neuroaffirmative Practices.

I believe there is hope and healing. I will start by understanding where you are now and your challenges. I'll help you to grow your awareness and develop gentle techniques to regulate your emotions.

Helping women live a better life is my passion. It might mean learning to set boundaries, working through traumatic experiences, developing easier communication styles,  or changing a pattern of behaviour that keeps you stuck. My goal is to help you feel better, so you can live the life you've always dreamed of.

Couples Therapy

I create an environment where both partners can freely express themselves and tackle the underlying issues affecting their relationship. Our sessions, personalised to your specific needs, involve collaborative efforts to identify and address the root causes of challenges in your relationship, such as:

  • Communication Skills
  • Conflict Resolution
  • Intimacy and Connection
  • Trust and Betrayal
  • Family Challenges

I offer practical tools and strategies to improve communication, deepen emotional connections, and rebuild trust. My approach is empathetic, solution-focused, and aimed at nurturing a more resilient and thriving partnership.

What to Expect in Your First Session

Your first session will help us figure out if we are a good fit for each other. We'll explore your goals for therapy and what you hope to achieve. Let’s chat about how long we might work together, whether you’re considering a short-term, medium-term, or long-term commitment!

Feel free to ask questions; I’m here to address any concerns you might have.

My session times are Tuesday to Friday, 10 am to 5 pm. I'll do my best to get back to you the same day you reach out.

If you like what you read about me, please email or text to book an initial session. We can use this opportunity to see if the way I work suits you.

If my experience or our availability doesn't align, I have a wide network of other therapists, and I can refer you if you wish, so you don't have to start your search from scratch.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
