About me

Do you need someone qualified to talk to at short notice at affordable rates? Are you in a crisis? Not knowing who to turn to? All is not lost as talking to a trained listener will reconnect you to inner strengths and resources that are temporarily out of your reach.

I offer you a supportive and caring space when you most need it to talk through difficulties and worries you may be having.

I aim to establish a meaningful therapeutic relationship with you. As a psychodynamic counsellor I am trained to listen on many levels to understand and discover with you what you are bringing. Developing the unique relationship of therapy is based on empathy and being heard laying the foundation to understanding yourself at a deeper level. The process of therapy is transformative in evoking healing and easing pain and suffering in order that life can begin to be lived more fully. I am passionate about offering real in-depth therapy without behavioural techniques and gimmicks that are shown to be ineffective in the long term.

I am a fully qualified Psychotherapeutic and Psychodynamic counsellor with many years experience.

I am a Registered member of BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy).

I have worked in the NHS in mental health all of my working life, in Psychological Therapies, and previously as a Registered Mental Health Nurse.

I have worked in GP surgeries seeing a wide range of people for psychological therapy in the NHS for depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, bereavement, low self esteem and many other psychological issues and distress.

Experienced in short term and long term therapy.

I offer confidential, one to one, face to face therapy for adults and young people.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
