Lorraine Evason BSc(Hons); Dip Therap Counselling; Dip Psychodynamic Counselling
I offer face to face counselling in Frome. I am a fully qualified psychotherapeutic counsellor with many years experience. I establish a meaningful therapeutic relationship with you based on empathy and being heard laying the foundation to understanding yourself at a deeper level. Therapy can be a transformative experience evoking healing and easing pain and suffering in order that life can begin to be lived more fully. The therapeutic relationship is central. It aims to achieve understanding and insight into the underlying reasons for our problems that enables us to cope with current and future difficulties.
I am a Registered member of BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy). I have worked in the NHS in mental health all of my working life in psychological therapies and previously as a Registered Mental Health Nurse.
For almost seven years I worked in GP surgeries with a wide range of people for psychological therapy in the NHS for depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, family problems, bereavement, low self-esteem, childhood trauma and many other psychological issues and distress. I am now in private practice.
I am experienced in short term and long term therapy. I offer open-ended therapy.
I provide confidential, one to one, face to face, therapy for adults from age 18.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
