About me

Are you feeling anxious or overwhelmed? Perhaps you are struggling in your relationships or feeling alone in your struggles. My name is Lorna and I am a Clinical Psychologist. I specialise in helping people with anxiety, trauma reactions (including PTSD and Complex PTSD), and chronic pain. I work in a compassionate and thoughtful way and I have extensive clinical and research experience.

I am trained to doctoral level and qualified to provide a number of evidence-based psychological therapies. I specialise in providing a compassionate, relational and integrative mind-body approach, which combines traditional talking therapy with mindfulness, breathing techniques, guided visualisation and somatic therapy techniques.

I understand that starting therapy or choosing a therapist can be daunting. Please contact me if you are considering booking a consultation and I will be happy to answer any queries and explain more about the process of therapy. I hope to provide a safe and confidential space for you to talk and overcome your difficulties.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

Health and Care Professions Council

The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.

They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.

Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
