- WALK & TALK COUNSELLING
Enjoy the therapeutic healing nature brings to the body, mind and soul. Being outdoors in nature can decrease stress, anxiety disorders and negative thinking.
Physically Walk & Talk Counselling can lower pulse rate and blood pressure as well as decrease concentrations of cortisol (a hormone released as part of the Fight, Flight and Freeze response)
Sometimes... We need to talk…..
Often it's plain sailing, you are enjoying life's cruise surrounded by your loved ones. The warmth of the sun on your skin and the freshness of the breeze through your hair one minute then suddenly storm clouds begin to gather. The sky gets darker and darker, the waves are larger and seemingly endless. The wind is growing stronger taking you in all directions. To stay safe you need to head for shore and anchor down. Perhaps the lighthouse on the shore can guide you towards that safety.
Counselling and CBT can offer that safe place in which to explore your stormy skies. A lighthouse or the safe haven of the harbour counselling offers a therapeutic, non-judgemental space to help you navigate yourself through the thunder and lightning to calmer seas.
What I offer as a Counsellor & Life Coach…
- A safe, relaxing and confidential space
- Coping strategies and lifestyle skills
- I use an integrated approach to counselling including CBT
- Anger & Stress Management
- I offer the unique opportunity to "Walk n Talk". In a safe environment, we can explore your experiences whilst we walk reducing anxieties some people experience when talking face to face.
- Children & Young People
- Workshops
- Personal training and health management
Additional Issues I work with are wide-ranging:
Depression, Anxiety, Generalised Anxiety Disorder, Panic attacks, PMDD & PMT, Trauma and PTSD, flashbacks, relationships, family issues, suicidal thoughts, self-harm, low self-esteem, life transitions, life coaching, mindfulness, loss and bereavement, terminal illness, eating disorders.
I am passionate about counselling and the well-being of others. You the client are the director of your counselling process whilst I facilitate a safe and non-judgemental environment for you to explore your concerns, identify goals and solutions. I use skills, tools and knowledge to progress you towards your therapeutic goals and wellness.
As a Person-Centred Counsellor, my clients are in control of their therapeutic journey. Building a trusting, non-judgemental relationship in a safe space is an important part of the counselling practice. To complement and enhance this process I integrate methods from Humanistic, Psycho-dynamic and Cognitive Behavioural Therapies, Neuro-Linguistic Programming and Life coaching.

Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Reviews:
"I was lucky enough to have Lorna work with me over 8 weeks via Zoom (due to lockdown). She is really easy to talk to, incredibly understanding and extremely knowledgeable. She has helped me put in place many methods to help and has gotten me to a place where I feel much better. I found her way of working very engaging which allowed me to work through things at my own pace. I would definitely recommend Lorna to anyone seeking a counsellor.". (Laura)
PROFESSIONAL & KNOWLEDGEABLE
“When I reached out to potential counsellors' during the global pandemic, Lorna was quick to respond and flexible with the ways in which we could communicate. I was also very happy with the ease and affordability of our sessions. I specifically wanted to use CBT techniques to help me tackle some anxiety I was facing day-to-day and in my past. Lorna was professional and knowledgeable throughout. I especially appreciated the resources emailed to me after each session to help me understand how I might be perceiving the world around me and how to build healthier habits, thoughts, and behaviors. I might have done very little during this lockdown, but I can say without a doubt that this is the best investment I’ve made in a very long time.” (Liz)

I am particularly interested in working with children and young people and the wide range of issues they can experience. I use creative techniques, drama, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Sand tray, and play to encourage children to tell their stories in a safe and caring environment.
In addition, being a fitness professional I am particularly interested in working with people in a more dynamic way, for example, using walking, running, dance, or even using the outdoors as a therapeutic experience.
Issues I work with: Anxiety, depression, self-esteem, Anger, voices, family, bereavement, cancer, eating disorders, stress, relationships, cancer, bereavement, resilience, and motivation to name a few.
As director of Tri-Unity Wellness, I offer a holistic approach to positive mental, emotional and physical health. I combine my experience as a counsellor and fitness professional to provide lifestyle analysis and coaching. I provide packages that exploring blocks to exercise and wellbeing, health checks, and personal training programs.
