Lori Morrissey MBACP (Namaste therapeutic counselling)
I am an approachable and caring person who works with an open & non-judgemental approach.
I am eager to listen, offering my skills to work in ways that help others to feel safe to talk about their difficulties. I do believe that we all have the potential for growth and a capacity to embrace change
A lot of my energy and passion is drawn from the belief that people can be empowered to find the answers within them.
Although at times we can feel stuck, we can work with this and build a trusting alliance to talk through complicated emotions. With a listening ear and maybe even some humour at times, I am able to sit with others in their confusion or chaos.
Namaste (Nah-mas-tay) - “ I honour the light, love, truth, beauty & peace within you because it is also within me” An ancient sanskrit word that can have many meanings, the essence is the recognition that we are all equal
My sessions are designed to feel welcoming & individual to clients;
Working from a psychodynamic perspective, over time, we might look to use alternative methods and creative techniques to help unfold more complex issues & unconscious thoughts, at your pace; this could involve the use of words, objects, visualisation & mindfulness in order to enhance self awareness & create more positive outcomes
From my practice, I offer a calm & comfortable room
All of you is welcome!
Finding it difficult to make that call? I understand & have been there too
I offer a free of charge initial telephone consultation, providing an opportunity to talk & find out if we feel we can work together.
Please note - All calls will be answered by me & are treated with your confidentiality in mind
If an email feels more appropriate, we can go from there--Face to face, telephone & Skype sessions are available.
I offer short & long term options, this is always at the client’s pace & can be reviewed regularly.
We all experience setbacks, change, loss and more
As an example, some regular themes that occur within my caseloads are:
- Overwhelming feelings, with (what feels like) no valid reason for them
