Dr M Lola Perez Gavino, HCPC, CPsychol, BABCP
I am a Clinical Psychologist and Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist (registered with HCPC, BPS and BABCP accredited). I have over 15 years of experience working in mental health for the NHS and the Spanish National Health Service.
I can help people with a variety of difficulties, including depression and low mood, as well as anxiety disorders (generalised anxiety disorder, panic disorder, agoraphobia, social anxiety and specific phobias). I am accredited as a CBT Psychotherapist by the British Association of Behavioural Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP), an association that promotes high standards of training, knowledge and application of Cognitive Behavioural Therapies (CBT).
I have extensive experience of working with children, young people and adults with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD). I also have extensive experience in (and feel passionate about) working with children, young people and adults with a diagnosis of Autistic Spectrum Condition and/or Asperger's Syndrome. I have additional training in trauma focused CBT and EMDR for trauma and PTSD.
My therapeutic work is influenced by my training in CBT, Narrative Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Everybody has a story of who they are and what is important to them. We often follow the path we are most familiar with and it may be difficult to see other routes on the way. I would like to explore with you new paths that may be less obvious, paths that would bring you closer to the kind of person you would like to be and to live by the values that are important to you.
